Alexander tubas don't have poor intonation, people do. If you rely on your instrument to give you pitch, or have an air column like a cooked noodle, then you should take up a keyboard instrument or perhaps percussion...oops, you'd have to tune your drums. Nothing personal, oops...I just think people should know the TRUTH A good Alexander will sound the pitch wherever you put it. I know because I have one and although I am not and probably won't ever be a professional tubist, I have excellent intonation on my Alex.
