Hello All,

I have recently been studying microtonality in my Experiments in American Music class. We were talking in class about some different composers that did different things with instruments to change to change their pitch configuration. The only brass example was that of the trumpet. I was wondering if anything had ever been done with tubas before? I found this to be a really intriguing topic and wonder if it has been discussed before.
Do any of you have any experience with microtonal compositions? If so, what steps did you have to take to tune the instrument correctly? Was the notation standard? I have heard some really great synthesizer and piano pieces and I am givig consideration to jumping into the tuba realm. As always, thank you for your time.

Sean D.
