Yeah, that's what I was hinting at in my post. I went into the trip hoping I'd find an easy playing, rotary BBb. Instead I found an easy playing piston CC! Drat! I HATE it when that happens!
I agree completely -- picking the horn that I can sound the best on NOW is a sound idea (no pun intended). However, I've got 25 years of BBb fingerings in my subconscious somewhere, and I'm already working on switching from Eb to F fingerings. So I'd really prefer to add a BBb contrabass for that reason. Hence my dilemma . . . .
