I played both CC and F tubas in my last recital. I chose not to blow a few notes, as most often this is the reality of switching horns. For instance, in pictures.. there is not room for playing a few notes on your f tuba before you do bydlo.. you just do it. I feel that being able to pick up one horn after another is a skill tubists must hone in on, if they intend to use two horns. Try just placing the mouthpiece on your face. For me, this alone does the trick for switching. I think it's just the diference in size of mouthpieces, and ability to feel them on your face. If you do choose to blow notes, feel free, I guess. If they're nice notes.. i'm sure the audience won't mind :)

Good luck with your recital!
