Opposition to New Ideas

I was wondering, for the people out there who know, what kind of opposition (if any) did Arnold Jacobs face when he was teaching his 'radical' ideas about song and wind? Was it generally accepted by the brass players in the Orchestra? Was there opposition from school teachers? Or did his abilities as a musician guard him from that?

Just a thought.
