Just got done searching the archives on tuba stands. Found several favorable comments on the DEG stand, so I found a picture of it on the web. Looks to me as if this won't really hold the horn upright for you, but will support the horn and keep it off your lap.
The picture made me think that I might be able to fabricate an attachment for my trombone stand to adapt it as a tuba rest. Anybody out there already try something similar?
