Did Mr Jacobs waste his time at Curtis? Let me answer it this way, when he passed away five years ago, one of the charities funds were donated to was the Curtis Institute. I cut the check to them. Seems to me that he had great respect for the Curtis Institute.

Was his education well rounded at Curtis? Not really, he did comment at times that they never taught him about non-music subjects. Yes, he was someone who studied certain subjects on his own such as physiology or psychology. When it came to some business activities, he relied on his wife. I do not think he considered Curtis in the 1930's to be well rounded. I am sure Curtis is different in Y2K.
