I have been invited to do a masterclass and concert at an all-something or other honor band in the Spring. The piece we will be playing is the Tuba Rhapsody by Clare Grundman. Because it is all low register, I think it would be silly to bring my F tuba. My dilemna is whether to use my big B&S PT-6 or a 3/4 tuba. I love the sound and power of the PT-6 on this piece of music. On the other hand, a small CC may provide a more cutting and clear sound. Also, I know this is a silly consideration, the small CC is shiny and new amore visually pleasing. Doubltless, either would work just fine Being new to the whole "guest artist" thing, I am looking for opinions on which instrument may be more appropriate. Your help is appreciated.
