Wow! These horns must be really thin! I've seen some of the older (40+ years) Besson Eb's that are still in really good shape inspite of their age. I played a 983 once, about 3 years ago and it didn't seem so thin at the time, but my memory may be wrong.
Ditto on the great responsiveness and the comment on the mouthpieces. The R$S heavyweight really makes a difference in the sound.
