Yeah, that's right. They finally catered to the euphists among DCI. I got to play a prototype over the summer that Dino was hualing around to the shows. Very nicely constructed. About three inches shorter than a DEG marching Euph. The yammie is fatter though, and has an astoundingly large 11" bell. Played nicely as most Yamaha marching products do. Well balanced and a joy to hold. Had a first valve slide trigger. And accepts a large shank mouthpiece. Heavy as all get out though. Eh, the price to pay for durability. Just figured I would give the heads up to anyone interested. It won't be in production for another year or so. When I talked to Dino he filled me in and said that it should hit the field no later than 2005. Probably in a deal with some Div. 1 Guinea pig hornline.
