I use a Meinl-Weston 45s. It's big without sounding like a CC (if you want the distinctive voice), is VERY in tune (I first played it on Matt Walters' recommendation that it's one of the most in tune F tubas you can buy new), and it works very well for solos. I have used it in quintet, but it hasn't replaced my CC in that ensemble quite yet. I use both tubas depending on the literature. $5300 new last December.

Of course, the stock (and most correct) answer is, "Play a lot of F tubas and pick the one that works best for you." My tuba happened to work best for me.
