What Eve says about EEb is in line with my upbringing, which was within the British style brass band universe. Confirmed later by contacts with Brit military pro’s.
However I was asked to drop the EEb term, when I entered another US net forum for tubas. Which is in line with case/octave relationship Eve lines up.
The terms in my country generally are close to the German ones, but we might be unique in one term:
We do not speak of Middle C. We call it "nøglehuls c" (keyhole c). Dig that one(?).

PS: The mentioned Brit military contact, actually from a Scotch band, told me: We have two double E flats, one single B flat, and one double B flat.
When I saw the drillshow by the band, I understood the point of the small bore single B flat 3 valve tuba. It almost acted as a second bassbone one octave down. It was played by a musician so tall, that his kilt was close to appear as a very daring mini-skirt.
Quite the opposite experience was had, when I saw a televised transmission of the famous Edinburgh tattoo. One of the bands was from the Womens Army Corps. Not one single finger to be pointed at their playing.
But I had to admire one of their BBb players. She outshorted Farah by inches, at least vertically. And she drilled along with her old model 994, the long one. I never drilled with anything larger than a bassbone so did not envy her.
