Another transposition trick that will work for F horn parts is to play a CC tuba reading the treble clef as if it were bass clef(change the clef sign)and playing BBb fingerings. You have to add three flats to the newly thought of bass clef in front of the ones present. It works well. Bill Bell liked to have his students play the Bach Cello Suites on the CC tuba but using F tuba fingerings. This brought the range down to where it was much more playable on the CC instrument, and we learned to play F tuba even when an instrument wasn't at hand.
