I'm looking to get a new horn. I've been told to get a good quality CC tuba. I want to get into playing professionally. I currently play on a Yamaha BBb 641 rotary. That horn is a good size for me, but the rotary valves piss me off. They're to slugish. I'm looking for something that is a good all-around horn, can produce a big sound when needed, yet a good quality range. Some tubas mentioned for me to get are the B&S PT-4P, Meinl Weston 2145, and the Yamaha 822. I'm willing to spend up to $7500, but would rather purchase a used tuba in good condition. I've been playing for about 13 years now, I started young. Thanks for any comments or help.
