I have finally found a possible e-flat bass for brass band use with the lower leadpipe. There is a choice of two and I want to know if anyone can give an opinion on which would be best!! They are: A 1970's Boosey & Hawkes Imperial, 4 valve, compensating, silver plate, is an original low pitch model in excellent condition for £1600 or a Yamaha 631, 4 valve, silver plate, compensating also in excellent condition for £1850. They are both really good but I don't know which would be best! All the bands use Besson Sovereigns so I assume the B&H would be best and probably hold its value? Comments please!
