Don't discount the Getzen G-50 if you are looking at the Conn 52/56 J's. New G-50 are impossible to come by, so used is probably the way to go. David Fedderly is about the only guy that will ever have more than one, so he is the guy to talk to.

When I purchased my horn my top 5 were (in order):

Getzen G-50
Miraphone 188
Conn 56J
Perantucci PT-4
Meinl 2145

All of these (and MANY others) are all good choices. I picked what I liked best, and I recommend you do the same.
