Please Fred, you make this tired old argument time and again. There are those of us who simply do not subscribe to your theories. Many players I know are playing their 5 and 6 valve non-compensating tubas with great effect and very little slide pulling, myself included. Whether your equations say so or not, reality bears out the existence of such horns.

I'm not at all familiar with the Willson Eb tuba with 4 rotary valves. I have recently heard that Willson offers a rotary version of their big BBb and CC models and so the existence of such a horn in Eb wouldn't be a surprise to me. It all comes down to the sound in your head. Pick the horn that makes you sound the best. The rest is all idle speculation.

My opinion for what it's worth...
