Hi MA

do you play in a community band? Hit up the first two trumpets, your favorite horn player from that section you used to play in, and ask one of the quieter personality trombonists. Practice weekly no matter what. Pray that everyone gets along. Work like hell at getting along if/when personalities look like they may collide. Pay a local pro to coach you as a group. Spend no more than a hundred bucks on a bunch of Robert King pieces and one good "feature" piece...if things gel, then the others will perhaps spring for music...or you can get more and justify it because you are using what you purchase. Repeat all the above in order of necessity. Perform publicly. Contact the Humboldt State University Brass Chamber Music Workshop (California) and apply to attend (last week of July or 1st week of August.) If accepted GO. Repeat any of the above as desired. Enjoy.
