The very large Bb BATs are well known, but...
Were many 4/4 or 5/4 instruments built in Bb in the first half of C20th??
I'm thinking of well known makers such as York, Martin, Holton etc etc.
I wonder what proportion were made 4-valve front action and played really well...?
Suppose a good amount of these have been cut (successfully or otherwise) to C.
Anyone have any good places of info on this topic?
