Personally, I don't give a **** what kind of horn anyone plays. It's what comes to the audience that matters. If someone can tell what kind of horn you're playing and then makes a judgement based only on that singular item, then, as they say in Denmark "they wear small shoes". I played in All State band in New Jersey for two years on a Sousaphone for criminies sake.
1. Bull - you can put as many valves on them as you want. I have one with five and one with four. I don't think I've ever seen a 3 valve model in CC.
2. See above.
3. See above. Many use CC and some use BBb. Some of us use whatever it takes to make the best sound for the ensemble. I do some things on BBb, many on CC and quite a few on F depending on the piece and my concepts as to the best way to blend with the ensemble and still get the composers ideas across. (see above).
