Mr. Bertolet's phrase "But I use almost no pressure..." caught my eye. I've never had a decent very low register, and I'm beginning to wonder if the reason is my facial hair. Will some of you bearded and mustachioed low-register experts comment on how you do it?
I rarely get asked t play in the low register, and I concentrate more on the F tuba anyway. But a tuba is made for making low notes, and I've always felt it was a larger than normal gap in my already limited abilities.
