We are all assuming that since the logo and serial number are scratched out that this is a stolen horn. Maybe it is, but consider this as well. I have had the opportunity to work on several Mirafones form two prominent band programs in Missouri. Not only have I seen the engraving mutilated, I also have had to buff out 4 letter (and other)expletives scratched into the bells and bodies of these horns. These are from two of the most respected band programs (with good directors) in the state.
Again, this horn might be warm or it might have spent some time at a school similar to those described above.
I did bid $500 for it. I'm sure I'll get out bid. Take care, daryl
