Annoying

Hey all, I'm a high school tuba player, I've been playing for about 6 years or so, 4 years on the same horn. Anyway, some days this year, when I am playing, this terribly announing buzzing/vibration sounds in my throat/sinus region. I'm not even totally sure that is where the sound is coming from, because the vibrations of the tuba and my lips are somewhat confusing, but it doesn't matter what register or volume, it just sounds like a hiss/buzz/vibration, sort of hard to describe.

So what is going on here? Usually what I do is take apart the valves and let the water inside drain out, as they have been worn down over the years and water leaks down into the piston. I'm pretty sure that's not what's causing the buzz, I think its something with my throat, but really I have no idea.

As I've said, I'm baffled here. I honestly have no idea whats going on, but I thought maybe someone here might know of some story like this. Thanks in advance,

Dan
