Same thing happened to a guy I work with. He was scheduled to play on the Friday night solo concert for the TUSAB tuba conf. His PT-10's whole valve section is now curved in and many slides are also bent. Solder popped and braces actually snapped. He ended up borrowing my horn to practice on and play the concert.

My valve section was always kinda gummy when the horn sat for a day or two. He oiled everything up, redid the corks, and got the valves working better than when the horn was new. He also did a knock up job on Strauss 2 thus giving me a demonstration on how my tuba should work.
