I do plan to continue playing for fun most likely in a local brass band

That's a pretty strong indication that you might want to stick with BBb or perhaps make a move to Eb. Brass band music is written in transposed treble clef--transposing Bb bass parts on the fly to play on a CC is an unnecessary nuisance. While you could play the game of adding 3 flats to the Eb bass part and playing it on a CC, some BB purists may not consider the sound of a contrabass playing bass parts to be "right".

Im starting to want pistons over rotors, and silver over gold.

Do you mean "silverplate over lacquered brass"? Either way, it's mostly cosmetic. A change in mouthpiece can make more of a difference in sound than a change in finish.

Your choices seem to have their range in the extremes: Cerveny 681 to an HB2. Why not a King 2341? A great utility BBb. Miraphone 186 BBb horns are fairly easy to come by used and you could save yourself some money.

While folks on this BBS can offer more-or-less "safe" suggestions (like a 186-4U BBb), only you can determine which horn you'll really like to play. Why not spend some time trying out various tubas yourself?
