Be prepared for the following outcomes: At CCM, unless you are a virtuoso with an inside track, you will be gently "referred" to Tennessee Tech; NEC is a dump and the people are haughty types, and anyway, will Chester still be teaching there next year?; at USC, unless you have already been studying with Jim Self, you will not get in, and if you do, it will cost a lot of dough to go there; and believe it or not, if you are a really good player and present yourself well, you will get the fairest shot at Eastman, arguably the most "prestigious" of the schools on your list.

Have you looked at Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State? Don't overlook these great schools with great tuba programs.
