Some skinny guy in dirty clothes came into my store once with a clean-cut younger woman after she brought him around to look at an "Imperial" (2nd line - not "Sovereign") Eb horn that I had for sale used-like-new (bought in a group of instruments, as I certainly would not have gone out of my way to purchase it).
To me, it played like crap. When he picked it up, lightning-fast widely-ranging soaring and glorious sounds were emitted. Let's not be so quick to judge Eb horns just because we can't make them "go"...A few others can.
