Im a seventeen year-old tubist in the market for a CC tuba (new or used). Ive read through many past posts, and it seems that the two York copies (the Yorkbrunner and the Walter Nirschl) are the most popular. As you may have guessed Im heading off to college in 2001, and I want the best general purpose tuba I can find. Are these 6/4s too much for anything other than symphony playing? What great Jacobsian sounding slightly smaller tubas are there (i.e. how does the Hirsbrunner 4/4 stack up against the Nirschl 4/4)?
