What do you know about it? I grew up in the town Cale teaches in, and I don't feel like I bullshitted anything from my parents. I also don't feel like rafting in Colorado or walking around in our nation's capital did any damage to me, or distorted my view of much of anything. I feel like I gained a lot of perspective by seeing first hand how many people enjoy high school bands, and how many people are willing to support something that is considered 'unneccessary' in many school districts by attending concerts and raising money. My parents are not super wealthy nor are they are at my beck and call for anything. Instead, I had to ask for donations from buisnesses, and then sell more candles than I could count. I'm sorry if you feel like trips like these are wasting your money or your time.
