The SM2 has the same diameter rim as a Bach 1 1/2G. I own both and after playing the
SM2 two months, I am back on the Bach. The SM2 has a more funnel-shaped bowl,
the Bach is a deeper more rounded bowl. The tone is cleaner on the Bach, e.g. lip slurs
are more definite and locked in.
I also own the Doug Yeo and have tried it, but it would take a lot of work to build up
the chops to play it. It is huge, with a big throat.
