Need advice on an Eb Pan American!

I am borrowing an old Pan American Eb from a friend who plays Euphonium. The mouthpiece isn't with it. It looks terrible, but it gets a mellower sound than my BBb! I am going to school for music education at UH, and I don't have a whole lot of time to search for information. So I was hoping one of you might be able to help.

I just drilled and cut up some cork to port the 3 piston valves, and re corked the spit valve.

My Helliberg sits a 1/4 inch farther out in the shank than in my Mirafone 186, so I need to find a mouthpiece to play it with any suggestions? (this is a bigger Eb than I have seen, and I am still new to the history of tubas. Seems that if I could find a mouthpiece with the correct shank, it might be nice to have the rest of the mouthpiece be larger.)

I don't know when the slides moved last, but it couldn't have been within this decade. Have any tips for how to remove these slides?

Thanks! I appreciate the help.
