I am a proud new owner of a G50. I am interested in the inputs of more experienced Getzen/CB-50 owners on several fronts:

1) Mouthpiece of choice
2) Any particular quirks you've found in the instrument
3) Do you play on the CC or BBb side
4) Overall impressions of the horn

As a start:
1) I use a Canadian Brass Arnold Jacob mouthpiece

2) Find it very difficult to cleanly empty out the tuning slide spit valve, so I pull the slide out. Find that Al Cass oil is too thin for my pistons, using a heavier oil - had difficulties with binding pistons.

3) Play solely on the CC side, although when I teach, I depress the fifth valve (flat whole step) and use the BBb fingerings with my students.

4) My Getzen is a pleasure to play, the intonation is excellent and it has improved my range in both directions, although I need more work on my pedals.

Look forward to you inputs and thanks for your information... Matt Chin
