Georgia does not have a specific list of solo & Ensemble material. It is pretty much left up to the individual districts to determine the criteria. In our district solos must be approximately two minutes long, and not from an elementary method book. If the material is inappropriate for the player, it is up to the judge to adjust the score accordingly. If you're moving in remember Bremen High School is always looking for a good tuba player!

P.S. The Georgia Bandmasters is NOT the same thing as the Georgia Music Educator's Association. The GMEA is the group which actually sanctions all state musical events. The Bandmasters is a group of rural and South Georgia band directors dedicated to eliminating their perceived inequality in All-State selection.
