Interesting tuba developments: After playing my little 182 F for the last year in brass band, I got the opportunity to switch from horn to tuba for the next orchestra concert. Alas, there is nothing very interesting for the tuba, about 50 notes in one piece. The last concert...all Prokofief, was wondrous for tuba, what with Lt. Squeegee, 7th symph, and piano concerto.
But I digress. I am playing my 184 CC in the orchestra, and it is.....more of a TUBA. Like: bigger, mellower, deeper sound. I maybe am becoming an addict. I nearly disappear behind the 184, but just wait, in another five years I will have a 6/4 BAT and have to set it on the floor to play!!
