What is the prevailing way to tune a tuba. I was taught to have 0,1,2,4 in perfect tune. I found a excel spread sheet for tuning a tuba. If you play with it you might me able to do better by making 1 and 2 a couple cents flat, thus bringing other combinations better in line. When I am tuning on a digital tuner, is it correct that <5 cents difference cannot be heard by the average ear? I have never played with the slides while playing. Is this done on just the longer notes, or do you adjust constantly?
