A few weeks ago, I was having some difficulty in the first movement of the Hindemith
Sonata. After that practice session, I felt quite discouraged; not just about the piece itself
but rather my tuba playing in general. For a day or so I was second guessing my choice
to pursue tuba and music as my ultimate goal. I was pretty bummed about it.

Then, the next day at orchestra rehearsal, all it took was the finale of Stravinsky's Firebird
to reinstate my vigor for music, and perhaps it was even more than before.

Who has had experiences such as this? Do any of you pro players recall moments of
SEVERE doubt, only to overcome it in circumstances such as these?
