I was digging through my grandfathers garage and I found a very old mouthpiece. There is no stamping to indicate make or model. To make a long story short.. How difficult would it be to take it to a machinist and have a copy brass core lathed? I imagine that the surveying of the exterior would be quite simple... How about the interior? As for the accuracy, would it be possible to get within 1/1000 of an inch or better?
Any machinists or players with experience in this, your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
