1. How many of you have cut a Boosey & Hawkes tuba predating 1981 to raise it to A=442?
2. How much and where did you cut?
The reason I ask is that I may cut 1 inch off each of 2 straight tubes in the back, and I want to see if those tubas generally are a bit flat. Even though I can play in tune, I seem to be lipping it up slightly, especially on the higher notes. I got the idea of doing this from a helpful person in Canada and Phil Parker does some kind of cutting, which is probably the same.
If you could reply to the board stating that you did cut it, and how or how much, it would be helpful to the many who have such tubas.
