Who makes the tubas that bretterbutzel sells from time to time on our favorite auction site? The example below has an Alex wrap, has similar high quality details (braces, valves), except no bell garland, no nickel-silver valve slides. This is at least the
third one he has sold like this, including an F and another BBb. The other two were
gold brass; this one looks like yellow brass. Why would a high quality instrument not
have the mfrs marks? Was that an East German tradition?
