Percy Grainger's "In a Nut Shell" (I think that's the correct name) has the tuba part going down (almost chromatically) from the bottom of the stave to a nice pedal Ab, 7 ledger lines below.

This IS an example of seasonal notes. But wouldn't it be nice to have a horn that can actually play all of them? ;-) (There is no reason why Bb tubas shouldn't have 5th valves as standard)
