I have been having an interesting discussion on this BBS with Jay Bertolet about "un-sung" heroes of the tuba. I have learned alot about Oscar LaGasse, by all regards a wonderful player and teacher. I would like to hear from other tuba players about who they regard as their "un-sung" heroes of the tuba. We all hold the Big 5 (Jake, Bill Bell, Harvey, Torchinsky, Bobo) in high regard and have our contemporaries, Chester, Warren, Floyd, etc.. I am interested in people who the mainstream may not know about. There must be a 1000 great players out there no one is very familiar with. Cheers.
