Here's a question for anyone out there who has performed or is familiar with Pictures. Do tuba players normally use only one instrument for the entire piece? I know that playing Bydlo is exteremly high, and can be played comfortably on an F tuba. But for the sections in Great Gate at Kiev, a HUGE sound is needed, from a large horn. Is it customarry to use two tubas when performing this piece, even though it is possible to play Bydlo on a large CC, even though it is difficult? Thanks for all your suggestions.
