You may have problems centering pitch on a CC tuba at first. When you play an open C on a CC tuba your brain tells you lips Bb. The result is a split note. Don't base your opinion on the first time you try a CC tuba. Find a horn you can use for a while and learn to center the notes and the fingerings before you decide.
Now I would like to expand this thread. It seems the Eb/F debate does engender the same conroversy as the CC/BBb. Flames do not fly when someone says that an F tuba has a more compact sound the an Eb. Am I right and if I am why?
