I was perusing my record collection came across an old Eddie Harris album. Eddie was a jazz sax player who used lots of electronic gadgets. One trick he used was to put a sax mouthpiece on a flugelhorn or trumpet. This made me wonder if there have been any significant attempts at doing this with low brass instruments? Trombone? Euph? Tuba? Anybody know of any recordings? How'd it sound? Have you done it yourself? etc.
