Hello all.
This past weekend I had to cover (on tuba) for an electric bass player in a rock and roll band. It was all very last minute, and the bass player was very ill (you don't want to know the details). At any rate, it was for a 50's theme show that had a very involved bass book. It was all 4-beat walking bass lines with NO place to breathe. By the end of the two and a half hour show, I was freakin' exhausted. Regarding style, that was some of the hardest playing that I had ever encountered. It made me wonder:
What is the hardest pickup gig that you've ever been called for?
