My sense of intonation used to be decent. It was never one of my strong points, but it was never a huge problem of mine. Lately, it has become a colossal problem. I just can’t seem to sense where I am. I can tell when I’m out of tune with an ensemble, if the note is held out for longer than a beat or two, but I can’t seem to correct it. When playing by myself, I have virtually no clue, unless it is blaringly obvious or if my tuner is out. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? What can I do? (Exercises, computer programs, magic spells?)
