In my case, it was the way I was playing. TOO much playing without resting. I simply wore out my muscles. The horn never was the mitigating factor. One thing I did find was that by using a smaller mouthpiece my chops work more efficiently and with less fatique. FWIW, I use a PT-64 on both horns, not a mainstream choice by any means, but it's what makes it for me. I never owned a BAT and don't particularly care for them. That is just my opinion. I like the cleanliness that I GET on a 4/4. Many people play BAT's and sound fabulous. I would never blame the instrument for my FD problems, only the way I happened to play for about 16 years.
