I have to disagree with many of you on this subject. John Williams does write some powerful brass lines except that they were written about 100-150 years before he arranged them. Superman is nothing but Bruckner 4, His Darth Vader theme was in Barber's Commando March only 50 years before he wrote his. I won't go into great detail about the Jurrasic Park B theme being Bach Fugue No. 2 theme. As far as the Wagner would be writing movie music today is way off to me. Leonard Bernstein scored a movie once and said that he would never again write music that people are not meant to hear. I believe that insightful musicians like many of you are, listen to the score more than the average person...but in the end it is an enhancement of the drama...mood music.
