Is there an economical fix (other than heavy oil) for worn socks on my bass bone? Does anyone do selective plating or do the tubes have to be replaced? My friendly local repair guy quoted a minimum of $300 to replace the tubes. I don't have any problem paying someone to do the work.... I just thought $300 was a little stiff.
