Care to elaborate, Jay? I, too, am an advocate of a ' consistent embouchure ', but clearly there must be some change, or we would have less than an octave range. Is the tension across the lips the only thing you change from the pedal registar to those many ledger lines over the staff ? Do you never even raise an eyebrow for certain notes?
Obviouslly, unnessary 'embouchure gymnastics ' are trouble... as I value your opinion, I am just wondering where you draw the line in your own playing.
